Philharmonic Chamber Music Recital
Glasunov / Stravinsky / Webern
Spiritual pleasure
Although the string quartet form slowly fell out of fashion at the beginning of the 20th century and other, much less well-known and more experimental instrumentations moved into the focus of composers, composers were nevertheless attracted by the challenge of the firmly established instrumental combination. This was also the case with Alexander Glazunov, who quickly realised that the implementation of new musical ideas required not only visionary strength, but also courage and staying power.
