Norddeutsches Zupforchester
Private Event
This unusual ensemble consisting of mandolins, mandolas, guitars and double basses has been delighting audiences for nearly 60 years now. The Norddeutsche Zupforchester was founded in 1959, and specialises mainly in 20th century compositions that were originally written for an orchestra of plucked instruments. At their annual concert at the Elbphilharmonie this year, they deviate from this tradition a little: together with three recorder players, they perform original works from three centuries as well as arrangements for plucked instruments.
