Description

»Every day begins with an hour of Bach« – this is what András Schiff revealed in an interview about his practise regiment, to which he has dedicated himself for years, and which surely is the source of his unique interpretations. Schiff always engages himself with the complete works of a composer, poring deeply over the notes, but keeping an eye open for the world beyond music: Sir András Schiff, as which he can be addressed since 2014, weighs in on political matters, writes articles, and loves art, theatre, film as well as literature. And when he ends a recital of Mendelssohn, Brahms and Beethoven with an English Suite by Bach, you can tell that this arises from his continuous search for the »archetypical structure of Bach«.
