NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra / Seong-Jin Cho / Krzysztof Urbański
Prokofiev / Rachmaninov
Born in Seoul in 1994, Seong-Jin Cho reached the peak of pianist artistry 20 years later. In 2015 he became the first Korean to win the famous Chopin Competition in Warsaw, one of the most important piano competitions worldwide. Since then he has travelled the world and performed in the most famous concert halls. Cho has selected the much-loved Piano Concerto No. 2 by Sergei Rachmaninov for his debut with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra. Its soulful melodies are so beautifully fashioned that numerous songwriters and film composers have drawn on them for particularly romantic moments.
