NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra / Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla

In 2016, when she was only 29 years old, the Lithuanian conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla was appointed music director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and she thereby followed in the footsteps of Sir Simon Rattle, Andris Nelsons and Sakari Oramo. She is one of the most sought-after female conductors in the international classical music scene today, and she has long enjoyed a reputation around the world for her infectious enthusiasm and the warm relationships she builds with orchestral musicians. She now joins the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra for the very first time.
