Mind movies in the concert hall

Superman, Batman, Robin Hood, Princess Leia, Indiana Jones and Forrest Gump – generations of film fans have grown up with these screen heroes. And inextricably linked in our minds is the music with which ingenious film composers shaped their characterisation so memorably. Most notably among them, of course, the American soundtrack legend John Williams, who composed the scores for »Star Wars«, »Indiana Jones« and »Superman«, and for a whole host of other Spielberg flicks. Williams’s masterly scores also represent the lion’s share of the works presented in this film music concert, with which the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra under Stefan Geiger follow on from the success of last season.
