NDR Chamber Music Recital
Zemlinsky / Schönberg / Korngold
The enhanced form of Late Romantic music is the string sextet. In this more sumptuous chamber music formation, Arnold Schönberg revels in the footsteps of Brahms. Erich Wolfgang Korngold goes a step or two further and bathes in beautiful opulence. A feast of colour and harmony with masterpieces that give musical shape to the morbid sensuousness of the Fin de siècle.
