With some things, you do not need to understand them to be able to follow them. That is exactly the case with the atmospheric songs of Molden, Resetarits, Soyka and Wirth. And even if – as is likely in northern Germany – you are not familiar with the broad, Viennese dialect, you will still instinctively know what you are listening to: great representatives of contemporary Viennese song.
A mighty group of top-class Austrian musicians, led by Ernst Molden, has come together here for a unique musical project. Ernst Molden – a passionate storyteller – initially expressed himself mainly through the written word, but it was not long before he discovered a penchant for music, which he has been celebrating on the small and the big stage since the 1990s.
The »Ganz Wien« festival brings the Wienerlied (Viennese song) in all its forms to the stages of the Elbphilharmonie. A line-up of the contemporary scene’s most exciting artists exudes original Viennese flair and demonstrates the musical treasures the Austrian capital has to offer.
