Max Mutzke & Mikis Takeover! Ensemble

A waltz version of James Brown’s »A Man’s World«? A Bach-style cello solo over Radiohead’s »Creep«? On this night, things that appear at first glance not to belong together are brought together to create something new. Max Mutzke, one of Germany’s great soul voices, and the Takeover! ensemble travel freely through the most diverse of musical genres. The classical chamber music ensemble lives up to its name: »Takeover! is essentially a chamber music format that depicts a state of exception,« says its founder, the violinist Mihalj Kekenj, or Miki for short. With Mutzke and Takeover!, this is a meeting of kindred spirits who are just as adept at making the great works of classical music their own as they are the great soul or pop hits.
