Martynas Levickis / Accordion
Works by J.S. Bach, Philip Glass, Frédéric Chopin, Martynas Levickis and Franck Angelis
Autograph
Since charismatic accordionist Martynas Levickis made the leap to international concert venues in his early 20s, he has seen himself first and foremost as an ambassador of his instrument. Now, the Lithuanian native has finally released his first solo album, »Autograph«. In addition to »Impasse« by Franck Angelis, the only original work for the accordion, the record contains »the music that I love and have arranged for my instrument,« says Levickis.
And the music he loves is nothing if not varied, ranging from Bach, whose French Suite No. 5 the accordionist hears »as if a drunk violinist was entertaining his friends in a pub«, to Philip Glass, whose music already enthralled Levickis as a child.
