A conversation with his instrument and with the audience – this is how Martin Kohlstedt describes his music. So it can happen that the pianist and composer suddenly stops in the middle of his concerts and starts a completely new interpretation, created then and there for that evening’s audience. The 29-year-old musician from Thuringia in central Germany has already released two solo albums with his acoustic and electronic compositions. Kohlstedt can be heard at the Elbphilharmonie with his programmes »Tag« und »Nacht« (Day and Night).
