Lieder Recital: Ian Bostridge / Lars Vogt
Schubert / Beethoven
The tenor Ian Bostridge is admired and venerated worldwide – not least due to his moving lieder interpretations. It is no coincidence that his recording of Britten songs won him an Echo Klassik Award in 2014. He is fond of the Romantic composers, especially Franz Schubert.
His 2015 book on the »Winter Journey« has been translated into several languages, attracting and captivating an international readership. Through his performances, Ian Bostridge communicates with his audience in a very direct and sincere way. In his Hamburg concert, Bostridge presents a Schubert cycle: the »Schwanengesang / Swan Songs« is a collection of songs written by the composer in the last months before his death. Piano accompaniment is provided by Lars Vogt, a highly regarded pianist who has never lost sight of chamber music despite several prestigious performances as a soloist.
