After »The Pillars of the Earth« and »World Without End«, »A Column of Fire« is the new big historical Kingsbridge novel by international bestselling author Ken Follett. In 1558, the venerable Kingsbridge Cathedral still watches over the city, despite being deeply divided in the conflict between the Catholics and the Protestants. Friendship, loyalty, love – nothing seems to matter anymore.

Ken Follet was born in 1949 in Cardiff, Wales. The author has so far published more than twenty bestsellers and is celebrated for his innate skill of narrator.

The Harbour Front Literaturfestival brings together some 100 German and international authors at more than 25 locations in Hamburg’s docklands, including for the first time the Elbphilharmonie, from 13 September to 15 October.
