The Iranian-Kurdish musician and composer Kayhan Kalhor is known as a master of Persian classical music. Performances with renowned orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble have taken him to concert stages around the world. For the first time ever he now travels to Europe accompanied by his new quartet and takes the audience away to a »Garden of Tranquillity«.
Other continents also boast »classical« music traditions that have been taught and practiced at the highest level for centuries. The »Klassik der Welt« (World Classical Music) series presents these tradition-steeped musical forms in the intimate ambience of the Recital Hall.
