»Karneval des Glücks« nach Roger Willemsen – Harbour Front Sounds
Celebration of Life
»Roger Willemsen has left a gap that cannot be filled. I would like to hear his enriching words, his style, opinion and input on current geopolitical, environmental and humanitarian issues. Willemsen himself so often took inspiration from music and literature, and now we want to try and follow his example. In the process, we don’t forget the pain and grief that people can experience in their lives, especially in the first part. But after the interval, we celebrate life! After all, life is too short to waste!« (Katja Riemann)
The programme of the Harbour Front Sounds Festival has already devoted two evenings in recent years to the great publicist and music lover Roger Willemsen, who died in 2016, with Iris Berben and Ulrich Matthes reading from his texts. This year, actress Katja Riemann reads two of Willemsen’s texts – »Der Karneval der Tiere« and »Das müde Glück«; she is accompanied by Marianna Shirinyan on the piano and Franziska Hölscher on the violin.
