From neither Buenos Aires, Helsinki nor Paris – the tangos that Efim Jourist composed for his quartet hail from Russia. In the native Ukrainian’s compositions and arrangements, Russian soul meets Argentinian passion; the melodies and images from his homeland blend wonderfully with the South American rhythm of Astor Piazzolla.
