»Berlin is a big island of creativity«: for the two French musicians Paul Audoynaud and Héloïse Lefebvre, the move to the German capital was the initial impulse for forming their band Sun Dew. The multi-layered structure of the carnivorous plant the band is named after served as inspiration for their sound. With the unusual combination of violin, electric guitar, Fender Rhodes, cello, percussion and bass, the sextet creates a complex musical universe. Their delicate yet powerful compositions are a blend of jazz and rock elements. In the Elbphilharmonie Kulturcafé they now present their new album »This Secret Cay«, which is released on the label of guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Jazz at the Kulturcafé is a monthly event presenting the most promising upcoming artists in the jazz and singer-songwriter scene. It is the perfect experimental platform for musicians and bands from Hamburg and all over the country. The atmosphere is laid back – and admission is free!
