Hensel / Mendelssohn Bartholdy
Brother and sister
This musical reading with letters and works for cello and piano from the pens of Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn shows the connection between what was probably the most inspired brother-and-sister pairs of composers in music history. From childhood on, they not only had a close musical cooperation, they also wrote to each other in detail and in high literary quality all their lives, exchanging ideas and observations on the music of their time, the society around them and their special relationship: a correspondence as fond as it was intense and witty.
