Il Giardino Armonico / Giovanni Antonini
Telemann Festival
They had the reputation of being »Harnoncourt’s wildest children«: the musicians of Il Giardino Armonico under its conductor Giovanni Antonini have been at the cutting edge of historic performing practice for over 30 years now. Tonight, Antonini and his ensemble portray Telemann as a composer with a special feeling for unusual instrumental timbres. In addition to concerti and a suite for alto recorder, the programme features a true curiosity in the shape of the sonata for two chalumeaux.
