Music for future

»How dare you steal my dreams and my childhood with your empty words?« - thus the reproach that Greta Thunberg, the figurehead of the today’s young rebels, hurls at the gods of our time, the politicians, who are knowingly depriving future generations of their livelihood. At tonight’s concert, Dominique Horwitz is the ambassador of the climate movement, and one of today’s leading composers, Moritz Eggert, takes on the tricky challenge of writing two commissioned works in the stress field between human culture and the beginning of disastrous environmental problems; the two new pieces by Eggert are inserted as an entr’acte into Beethoven’s famous ballet score.
