Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra
Academy Concert
This concert juxtaposes Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Johannes Brahms, both of whom have links to Hamburg, with Renaissance composers. Vocal madrigals meet Mendelssohn’s famous Octet – a work that was inspired by Goethe’s verse. Performing in the concert is a string ensemble from the ranks of the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra, and the American choir Chanticleer.
