Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra / Kent Nagano
New Year’s Eve Concert
The countdown is on
Mozart’s poetic and jubilant musical language is a staple part of the Philharmonic State Orchestra’s New Year’s Eve Concert every year. In 2022, that sound meets Wolfgang Rihm, who celebrated his 70th birthday in 2021 and who has shared a close artistic connection with Kent Nagano for many years. Also on the programme to mark the final countdown is one of the most famous London symphonies: Haydn’s »The Clock«, contrasting with the 100 ticking metronomes in György Ligeti’s »Poème symphonique«.
