Love, hate, betrayal, madness and thirst for power: Giuseppe Verdi’s opera »Nabucco« deals with all the major themes of human life. At its core, the Old Testament story is about an oppressed people’s desire for freedom: when the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar (Nabucco) captures Jerusalem, a chain of tumultuous events is set in motion.
