When you move to another country, you’re jumping into cold water. So many new things to see and hear can be exciting and fascinating, but one has to get one’s bearings first – and deal with inevitable homesickness. In this thrilling production young listeners set off on a grand journey for America, the New World.
Without words, a funny yet profound story unfolds accompanied by sounds and imaginative, live projected visuals. The music is by famous Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, who himself travelled to New York on a huge passenger ship. Ensemble Resonanz combines his music with self-mixed sound effects and American ragtime.
