Florian Christl & Ensemble
Works for piano and strings
Thrilling drama, lyrical contemplation
Florian Christl, his piano and an ensemble of strings are the ingredients for an intense concert evening of a special kind. The programme consists solely of pieces that the Munich-based pianist and composer has written himself. Some of these have already been released on CD, while others are new to the public.
Composing is a personal, almost intimate process for Florian Christl, a process where he is alone with his music. Improvisation plays an important role: there are moments where Christl, as he says himself, escapes reality to feel alive, absorbed in his own thoughts. The result is a mixture of thrilling drama and lyrical contemplation combined with moving strings arrangements.
