Extra Concert: Woody Allen & His New Orleans Jazz Band

Woody Allen has made more than 50 full-length films and is undoubtedly one of the most industrious – and prominent – filmmakers of our time. In addition to films, Woody Allen’s other passion has always been jazz music, traditional jazz in particular. Together with his band, clarinettist Allen performs classical jazz fully in the tradition of Sidney Bechet, George Lewis, Johnny Dodds and of course, Louis Armstrong. In their concerts they go on a long journey ranging from great jazz hymns and old spirituals to unknown blues and rags. Woody Allen and his band have gone on tours for the past 20 years. Their last visit to Germany was in 2011.
