The works of the Greek composer Iannis Xenakis, who died in Paris in 2001, continue to fascinate audiences to this day. Like Stockhausen, he has had a reputation since the 1960s as an artist who advocated the rethinking of all musical parameters – and it was surely no coincidence that both composers always shared a great interest in architecture, mathematical precision and spatial forms of experimentation.
