Chamber music to mark the anniversary
What a beautiful way to celebrate César Franck’s 200th birthday: the pianist Mathias Weber performs three concerts on César Franck’s original Érard grand piano in the Laeiszhalle and in the Elbphilharmonie. For the grand finale of this edition of the Érard Festival, Weber then joins forces with the Hamburg-based Ensemble Acht in the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall. The programme features chamber music of the highest calibre: in addition to Nepomuk Hummel’s Septet, the musicians present – in Beethoven’s contribution to this genre – a real milestone in music history.
