Deutsches Ärzteorchester / 30th Anniversary
Benefit Concert in Support of Hamburger Hospiz
With its 150 members the Deutsche Ärzteorchester (German Doctors’ Orchestra), which is a full symphony orchestra, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019. To mark the occasion, the orchestra is performing one extremely beautiful and one extremely challenging work: Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Violin Concerto and Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony.
Under its musical director Alexander Mottok, the Deutsche Ärzteorchester brings together doctors of all specialisms as well as other medical professionals such as pharmacists, nurses and medical students. For many of the orchestra members, making music is the perfect counterbalance to the challenging work of treating patients in hospitals and clinics every day.
