Daniil Trifonov / Piano Recital
Beethoven / Schumann / Prokofiev
What a career! – It was nothing short of a natural phenomenon when Daniil Trifonov won first prize at the Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Rubinstein competitions in the space of a single year. In the meantime, the young pianist, who isn’t even 30 yet, plays together with the best musicians and fills concert halls worldwide. And this sudden success hasn’t gone to his head, either: on the contrary, it has caused him to dedicate himself to his music even more seriously, as his acclaimed recordings of Chopin, Rachmaninov and Liszt show. In his new recital programme, he combines Prokofiev’s stirring Sonata No. 8 with works from outside the core repertoire.
