Claire Huangci
Pianomania
Claire Huangci was ten years old when she gave a private concert for President Bill Clinton. She is mainly known for her brilliant interpretations of Scarlatti and Chopin. She initially studied at the famous Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, later at the Hanover University of Music in Germany.
The 26-year-old pianist has prepared a varied selection of works for her »Pianomania« recital. These include well-known compositions, such as Mozart’s Variations on the French children’s song »Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman«, which uses the same melody as »Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star«, Brahms’s technically challenging Handel Variations and Beethoven’s c minor variations, as well as two rarely performed cycles by Chopin and the American composer George Rochberg (1918-2005).
