Christmas Concert / Symphoniker Hamburg
Vivaldi / Bach / Elgar
On 25 December, the venerable Laeiszhalle offers people a wonderful opportunity to get away from the seasonal hustle and bustle for a couple of hours in the shape of the Symphoniker Hamburg’s traditional Christmas concert. On the programme: atmospheric Baroque works and Elgar’s emotional Serenade for Strings.
The year isn’t over yet, but the clock is already ticking… Although nothing was farther from Haydn’s mind than the movement of a watch when he wrote his Symphony No. 101, some passages reminded his publisher of a ticking clock, and he ended up giving the work its popular nickname, »The Clock«. A concert for the whole family!
