Chamber Orchestra of Europe / Robin Ticciati
Mozart
An Evening of Mozart with One of the Most Distinguished Chamber Orchestras of Our Time
In 1981 some members of the European Community Youth Orchestra had reached the maximum age of 23, but were still keen to make music together. The Chamber Orchestra of Europe was born, for which star conductor Claudio Abbado acted as mentor. He accompanied the ensemble on a European tour, and the first recording awards soon followed. Today, the orchestra has 60 members from all over Europe and is regarded as one of the outstanding chamber orchestras of our time.
Alongside arias from operas such as »Le nozze di Figaro«, »Don Giovanni« and »La clemenza di Tito«, the orchestra also performs Mozart’s early Serenade for Orchestra, as well as the great »Linz« Symphony, which points to Mozart’s later work.
