Klangperlen – Pearls of sound
In her recital called »Klangperlen«, the pianist Catherine Gordeladze presents works from her new CD »La Ricordanza«, among others – all inspired by the human voice. The focus is on Franz Liszt’s work, along with the genealogy of the pianistic tradition that surrounds Liszt. Besides »Isoldes Liebestod« and »Sechs polnische Lieder nach Chopin«, the programme also includes the introspective work »La Ricordanza« by Liszt‘s teacher, Carl Czerny. There is also another highlight in the piano repertoire: »Nachtfalter« in the style of Johann Strauss and arranged for piano by Liszt‘s student, Carl Tausig – a virtuoso Polish pianist whose inner circle included Richard Wagner and Johannes Brahms.
