Concerts at the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle are currently subject to coronavirus-related restrictions. This event is therefore going ahead with an amended programme and reduced seating capacity. There will be two concerts on 21 September at 18:30 and 21:00.

Animals in the Elbphilharmonie? Music makes it possible. The evening starts with Camille Saint-Saëns: his delightful and boisterous »Carnival of the Animals« is a charming showpiece of musical humour, with roaring lions, cackling hens and dancing turtles. This is aptly followed by the story of the young Peter, his grandfather and the animals of the woods and fields. If you listen carefully, you can hear them all. And thanks to the narrator, Prokofiev’s story of »Peter and the Wolf« is particularly vivid: in this concert, German TV icon Barbara Schöneberger demonstrates her love of music.
