Eduardo Paniagua is a bridge-builder in the truest sense of the word: not only as a qualified architect, but also as a musician the Madrid native has been exploring the boundaries and links between Orient and Occident, between the present and the past for more than 50 years. One of Paniagua’s achievements has been to rediscover the rich musical traditions of medieval Andalusia, making them accessible to today’s public on authentic and reconstructed instruments. Here in the south of Spain, Mediterranean, Arab and European cultures converged between the 11th and the 15th centuries, producing a unique wealth of precious music.
