B’Rock Orchestra / Dmitry Sinkovsky
NDR Das Alte Werk
Baroque instrumental music often paints a colourful and boisterous picture of life at the time. In one violin concerto by Georg Philipp Telemann, for example, we hear frogs croaking: the violin part makes express mention of a »frog solo«, while the tutti features a »frogs’ chorus«. Along with compositions by Johann Joseph Fux, Biber and Vivaldi, the Belgian baroque orchestra B’Rock, founded in 2005 and now well-known for its rousing and full-sounding performances, offers the audience a thrilling Theatrum mundi. The ensemble is led by Dmitry Sinkovsky, a Russian multiple talent who has received the highest decorations as a baroque violinist, and in the meantime is causing a sensation as a countertenor.
