Baroque Meets Jazz

Jean Rondeau, Artist in Residence at the Telemann Festival, is a self-confessed all-rounder: »Jazz and improvisation influence my interpretations of Baroque, classical and Romantic music, and by the same token, this music represents a great source of inspiration for my jazz work.« For Rondeau, interpretation, improvisation and composition all belong together. The musicians of Bach’s and Telemann’s day will have seen things pretty much the same way: ideal conditions, in other words, for a cooperation with Geir Lysne and the NDR Bigband.
