Israel’s Most Successful Jazz Export

Israeli musician Avishai Cohen is a true multi-talent: he is a bass player, composer, singer, bandleader and arranger. In the last 20 years he has made a name for himself both as Israel’s most successful jazz export, and as one of the most influential bass players of recent times. Be it as an arranger, composer or instrumentalist – with a total of 16 albums released, Cohen has unequivocally made his mark in modern jazz. After working together with major names like Chick Corea, Alicia Keys, Herbie Hancock and Bobby McFerrin, Cohen joined forces with Shai Maestro and Mark Guiliana in 2008 to found the Avishai Cohen Trio, with which he then released the album »Gently Disturbed«. To mark the tenth anniversary of this pioneering record, the original line-up of the time can now be heard at the Elbphilharmonie.
