Agnes Obel has shut herself away again to work like a hermit – a method she adopted in her chosen home city Berlin, as she once explained in an interview with Deutschlandfunk. A huge amount of electronic music is being produced in that city – everyone alone in their studio – and she just decided to follow that lead. »It really suits my temperament and character.« Having spent this time in the studio, the Danish singer-songwriter now returns to the world with some new music up her sleeve. She’s had some peace and quiet there to experiment with new sounds, with sophisticated instrumentations, arrangements and colorations, with her delicate songs and with finely woven structures … until everything fell perfectly into place.
