Its track record speaks for itself: nearly 50 years of history, and countless award-winning recordings and critically acclaimed tours. Founded by Sir Neville Marriner in 1958 , the Academy of St Martin in the Fields is probably the most famous chamber orchestra in the world.
Together with outstanding soloists – such as the talented 24-year-old pianist Kit Armstrong – the orchestra’s musicians continue the legacy of their founding father, championing the best chamber music and always surprising audiences with sophisticated programmes.
