Over the many years since it was formed, the Utrecht String Quartet (USQ) has earned an international reputation, and the ensemble’s musicians most recently demonstrated their versatility on tour in France, Germany, Australia, Finland and Kazakhstan. Their recordings of Alexander Glazunov’s complete string quartets attracted great interest in the classical music press. The ensemble has enjoyed great success not only with the standard quartet repertoire, but also with neglected and forgotten works. Their recording of Arthur Lourié’s quartets received outstanding reviews.
