Have you never heard the name Owen Pallett? Keen pop fans will shake their heads indignantly, but most other people will probably nod cautiously. Yet the latter, too, have in all likelihood come across the Canadian musician, who was known as »Final Fantasy« until 2009, at least once. Pallett is one of those people whose day apparently has more than 24 hours. He is not only a celebrated solo artist whose music is located somewhere between indie pop and electro; he also writes and arranges material for other artists and bands, among them Arcade Fire, Beirut and The Mountain Goats. He has won Grammy awards and composed two operas and film scores, such as »Her« by Spike Jonze and Anton Corbijn’s »Life«. For his concert in the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall, Owen Pallett returns to his roots, using his voice, a violin, a guitar and the loop station, with the help of which he makes great music out of a handful of notes.
