Kammermusik
Richard Strauss ist weit weniger durch seine Kammermusik als durch seine Symphonischen Dichtungen und seine Opern berühmt geworden. Im Jubiläumsjahr 2014 zu seinem 150. Geburtstag besinnen sich nun namhafte Solisten wie die norwegische Geigerin, die ECHO-Klassik-Preisträgerin (2013) Vilde Frang und der deutsche Pianist usbekischer Abstammung Michail Lifits gern auf die verborgenen Schätze im Schaffen des großen Klangmagiers. Die Violinsonate Es-Dur op. 18 von 1887 ist, obwohl Strauss damals erst 23 Jahre alt war, das letzte seiner Kammermusikwerke überhaupt. Vilde Frang, die bereits eine reiche Kammermusikerfahrung unter anderem mit Gidon Kremer, Martha Argerich und Gautier Capuçon sammeln konnte, hat auch das Frühwerk ihres Landsmanns Edvard Grieg, die Sonate Nr. 1 F-Dur op. 8, und Franz Schuberts Fantasie C-Dur D 934 im Programm. Die Partita für Violine und Klavier des polnischen, 1994 verstorbenen Komponisten Witold Lutosławski entstand im unmittelbaren Umfeld des Violinkonzerts »Chain II«, das Anne-Sophie Mutter einst in aller Welt bekannt gemacht hat. We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
