During the lockdown Jason Pierce, also known as J Spaceman, walked through London and listened to the birds singing. He moved across the city without seeing any signs of human life or a single condensation trail in the sky: »It felt as if I had been training for this moment all my life.« The frontman of Spiritualized is a loner, and was completely in his element in this situation. In his mind he connected the birdsong with his work on the new album »Everything Was Beautiful«. As he has always done, at this moment Pierce was only interested in music – well, OK, maybe now and again in a tiny dose of some mind-expanding drug as well... Not without reason is Spiritualized »the« psychedelic rock band, and not without reason is J Spaceman the producer who hones his songs up to the last minute.
