5. Kammerkonzert: Große Fuge
Maurice Ravels Streichquartett entstand in den Jahren 1902 und 1903. Direktes Vorbild für sein erstes bedeutendes Kammermusikwerk war das Streichquartett Debussys. Gewidmet ist es seinem »lieben Meister Gabriel Fauré«. Nach der erfolgreichen Uraufführung fand Fauré jedoch zahlreiche Kritikpunkte – Debussy hingegen war begeistert. Beethovens sechssätziges Streichquartett op. 130 entstand 1825 bis 1826. Die Uraufführung 1826 wurde durchaus gut aufgenommen, nur der letzte Satz, die »Große Fuge«, erfuhr schroffe Ablehnung. Daraufhin ersetzte sie Beethoven auf Bitten seines Verlegers durch ein heiter beschwingtes Finale und gab die Fuge als eigenständiges Werk op. 133 heraus. In diesem Konzert wird das Werk in der »Originalversion« mit der Großen Fuge als Finale präsentiert!

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
