3. Kammerkonzert: Geistertrio
Den populären Beinamen »Geistertrio« verdankt Beethovens D-Dur-Trio den geisterhaften Tremoloeffekten und überraschenden dynamischen Kontrasten seines langsamen Satzes. Mit diesem Werk befreite er die Gattung Klaviertrio von dem unterhaltenden Charakter, den sie noch bei Mozart und Haydn gehabt hatte. Schumanns Fantasiestücke bestehen aus einem Potpourri von Sätzen in einfachen Liedformen und mit Tanzcharakteren. Sein Klaviertrio schrieb Tschaikowsky zum Gedenken an Nikolai Rubinstein: Die Variationen des zweiten Satzes gehen auf ein von Tschaikowsky und Rubinstein besonders geliebtes russisches Volkslied zurück. Das gewaltige Trio ist Tschaikowskys kammermusikalische »Pathétique« und erstaunt durch seine Ausdrucksfülle vom Elegischen über Verspieltes bis hin zum Grandiosen.

Please note: There are several construction sites in the immediate vicinity of the Laeiszhalle which may make it difficult to get to the concert. Please therefore plan enough time for your journey to the concert.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
