Description

»Bach à voix basses« – Bach with deep voices – is the name of the cantata programme presented by the great French alto Nathalie Stutzmann, her ensemble Orfeo friends and the Croatian bass baritone Leon Košavić at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. The project follows her idea of an imagined cantata: it includes all the typical cantata elements – a sinfonia, alto arias, bass arias – but these are taken from different cantatas by Bach. In that, the aspiration of the French singer with the hauntingly beautiful, deep-dark voice was not to string together the most popular pieces, but to present as wide a range as possible of moods.
