Kammermusik • Fazıl Say im Fokus
Gidon Kremer wusste sehr wohl, warum er dem deutsch-französischen Cellisten Nicolas Altstaedt 2012 die künstlerische Leitung seines geliebten Lockenhaus Kammermusikfestivals anvertraute. Der 32-jährige Cellist, der Guest Artist der Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center New York ist und bei vielen internationalen Festivals auftritt, sagte einmal: »Die klassische Musik ist etwas Existenzielles, ein Teil von uns. Das kann nicht zugrunde gehen.« Mit dem türkischen Pianisten und Komponisten Fazıl Say bringt er in Hamburg die Cello-Bearbeitung von César Francks berühmter Violinsonate A-Dur und Claude Debussys pastellfarbene Cellosonate d-Moll zur Aufführung. Ein zentrales Werk ist Fazıl Says temperamentvolle Komposition »Dört Şehir – Vier Städte«, in der musikalische Klangbilder der unterschiedlichen anatolischen Städte Sivas, Hopa, Ankara und Bodrum gezeichnet werden. Seine Cellosonate op. 40 schuf der russische Komponist Dmitri Schostakowitsch 1934, als seine Skandaloper »Lady Macbeth von Mzensk« uraufgeführt und von Stalin persönlich verrissen wurde. Fazıl Say ist Residenzkünstler der Elbphilharmonie Konzerte in Kooperation mit ProArte in der Saison 2014/2015. Weitere Konzerte: 12. November / 19.30 Uhr / Großer Saal Fazıl Say, Klavier 17. We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
