Martha Argerich Festival
Die Violinsonate Nr. 3, von Edvard Grieg und dem russischen Geiger Adolf Brodsky 1888 uraufgeführt, wurde ein großer Erfolg und zählt zu Griegs wichtigsten Kompositionen. Die Sonate mit ihren drei Sätzen besticht durch einen dramatischen Ausdruck und zeigt zudem deutlich ihren norwegischen Ursprung.
Das Klaviertrio a-Moll von Mieczysław Weinberg spiegelt seinen einzigartigen Stil. Im ersten Satz gibt es sich wiederholende Tonfolgen, die ein martialisches Thema begleiten. Dieses Thema löst sich auf und wird zu einer wehmütigen Melodie. Einem virtuosen zweiten Satz folgt ein dritter, voller emotionaler Wendungen bestückter Satz. Im anschließenden Teil erklingt Weinbergs poetische Musiksprache.
Nach der Pause spielt Martha Argerich zusammen mit Grammy-Preisträger Maxim Vengerov, einem der besten Violinisten unsere Zeit, für die Violinsonate in A-Dur von César Franck. 1886 vom Musiker Eugène Ysaie, dem das Werk auch gewidmet war, uraufgeführt, gehört die Sonate zu den zukunftsweisenden Kammermusikwerken des Komponisten. Sie basiert auf einem Motto-Thema, welches sich durch alle Sätze zyklisch zieht.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
